Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American sportscaster. Her current role is a sportscaster for ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. Since 2016, Collins has joined ESPN. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a television reporter. Antonietta Collins was a bilingual since she was nine years old, a valuable ability that allowed her to secure her first position in the production department at Univision in Miami and gave her the chance to be a part of the production team for National programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Then, in St. Petersburg, she was employed by the CBS station to work as an sports reporter. In 2009, she relocated away from Texas to Rio Grande Valley where she began her news reporting at KNVO TV 48 Univision. In 2009 she made the move to Rio Grande Valley, Texas in which she was a journalist for KNVO 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. Anchor duties on sports and weather was regularly requested. Later, she was anchor and reporter on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. She produced pieces about Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS, and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. The Univision 23 channel also produced her local sports channel Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. She was anchor for the sports segment of Despierta America Deportes morning show. In addition, she served as an anchor on sports in Primer Impacto, a magazine show on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born in the city of Veracruz, Mexico. They eventually moved to Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born in November 1985. She has an older sister. She has an older sister. They divorced shortly thereafter and her mother was remarried to one of the naval architects known as Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. The time of summer when she was with her sister at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten an employment. As a senior in high school and yet knowing exactly what she wanted to do with her life Antonietta visited the University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her requirements. It was a beautiful campus and provided the education she sought. Following her graduation from high school, she made the decision to enroll at the university and major with Media Studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and also the head of WRMU, of which she's a member. They developed a close relationship. Professor Bergmann encouraged her to believe in herself and was deeply moved by his love of journalism.
